Mobile safety app co. announces partnerships

Moby, a company that develops personal safety mobile applications, this month announced that it has partnered with a real estate safety expert, two Realtor associations, and a major multiple listing service.

The Virginia Association of Realtors, the Miami Association of Realtors, and Mid-Atlantic MLS MRIS are now promoting Moby’s safety app to their members, which number more than 94,000 combined.

Andrew Wooten, president of safety training company Safety Awareness Firearms Education (SAFE), will also be promoting the app. Wooten is featured in the safety section of the National Association of Realtors website and often conducts training for Realtor associations and brokerages. September is NAR’s official Realtor Safety Month.

Moby also has partnerships with the Iowa Association of Realtors, the Michigan’s MiRealSource multiple listing service, the Women in Default Services trade association, and franchisor Keller Williams Realty to promote the app to their respective members and agents.

The Moby app, available as a free download, allows users to share their location with family and friends and send alerts to chosen contacts and emergency services. For a monthly fee, Moby’s security monitoring center can also monitor alerts at any time of day.

The Moby app is available on BlackBerry and iPhone smartphones. The company plans to roll out an Android app soon.
