RealtyTrac’s neighborhood data and statistics subsidiary, Homefacts, has released a free mobile app that serves up local school ratings, crime risks, and the locations of environmental hazards, polluters, drug labs, and sex offenders based on the user’s location or by entering an address, city or ZIP code.
“This new app will extend to mobile the revolutionary way that Homefacts helps prospective homeowners and investors perform due diligence when buying a home,” said RealtyTrac CEO Jamie Moyle in a statement.
The Homefacts app provides data on more than 30 local and neighborhood data points, including property characteristics such as the number of bedrooms and bathrooms; neighborhood demographics including population, education level and median income; and neighborhood snapshots including median property values and vacant housing units.
RealtyTrac got into the business of providing “hyperlocal” neighborhood information in 2012 when it acquired Homefacts. RealtyTrac also offers a nationwide property-level data set of tax, deed and mortgage records for 125 million parcels nationwide that it licenses from CoreLogic.
