Celebrity real estate agent to help build homes for the needy

Madison Hildebrand, the Los Angeles real estate agent who rose to fame on the popular TV show “Million Dollar Listing,” has signed up to be an “Ambassador for Change” for do-good real estate marketing firm Giveback Homes.

Launched in 2013, the for-profit company lets real estate agents demonstrate their commitment to the communities they serve, founder Blake Andrews told Inman last year. Giveback Homes partners with Habitat for Humanity to coordinate donations and “build days” to help construct homes for families.

Hildebrand, a Malibu-based partner of L.A. firm Partners Trust, will be lending his name, brawn and voice to the Giveback Homes cause, and plans to travel to Nicaragua this May to help build a home for a needy family.

“Giving back has always been a part of my life and career,” Hildebrand said in a statement. “Now Giveback Homes affords me the opportunity to not only give time and money, but also to physically build a home for a family in need.”

Giveback Homes charges a $50 monthly membership fee that goes toward marketing materials members can use to advertise their affiliation with the program. The company encourages members to donate to specific Habitat for Humanity projects around the U.S. and in Nicaragua, with 100 percent of donations from members and their networks going to fund projects.

About 95 percent of Giveback Homes’ 300 members are residential real estate agents, Giveback Homes spokeswoman Priscilla Vega said. But the firm is starting to recruit other real estate professionals, including commercial real estate agents, mortgage brokers, homebuilders, interior designers, title companies, relocation services and insurance consultants.
