“Most brokerages are putting themselves between the consumer and the agent,” opined Ben Kinney at Inman’s latest Select Live event.

Redfin’s Glenn Kelman, Keller Williams’ Ben Kinney, Coldwell Banker’s Sam DeBord, Windermere’s John “OB” Jacobi and Windermere’s Vikram Deol sat down with Publisher Brad Inman to talk about which brokerage model is best for consumers — and which is best for agents.

“There’s no money in a small, independent brokerage,” Kinney also said. “The best money is in real estate teams.”

“We’re all facing the same challenge,” Kelman said. “It’s an on-demand world where people expect everything now. If you’re trying to do that all by yourself, you should have only one client and no family.”
