Arizona real estate agent Andrea Romero turned her job-related angst into a parody of pop star Taylor Swift’s hit “Shake It Off” recently. And a video of her diva-worthy performance of it has gone viral.
Posted to Facebook on Tuesday, the video of Romero singing her Swift remix “One Day Off” has more than 60,000 views.
It’s a song every agent can relate to.
The video’s success and obvious charm proves that agents can spin marketing gold by just being who they are.
Romero’s reaction to the attention the video has received? “I’m completely in shock,” she told Inman.
Stifling her own laughter, Romero performed the song on Tuesday, June 9, in front of approximately 75 people at an office grand opening celebration for her brokerage, Glendale, Arizona-based AZ & Associations Real Estate Group.

The lyrics were inspired by a stalled deal. A recent buyer client had trouble finalizing their financing, which might have scuttled the transaction.
If it looks like Romero knows “One Day Off” well, she does. It’s a consequence of her recent decision to merge her two loves: real estate and singing.
Romero, who calls herself a “word nerd,” often sings her own real estate-related lyrics to popular songs as she goes about her daily business, she said.
And since her two daughters — ages 8 and 13 — love Taylor Swift, some of those lyrics accompany Swift hits.
It might have all stayed in-house if not for prodding from her husband, who encouraged her to shape her two loves into videos she could use to market herself as an agent.
So Romero put pen to paper and hammered out the lyrics to “One Day Off,” went to a recording studio to lay down the track and will soon film a professionally shot video of the song.
Romero’s working on the lyrics for her next hit now. It’s set from a homeowner’s perspective, but that’s all she’ll say for now.
