Takeaways:

Homebuyers can now search tens of thousands of new-home listings on Homes.com thanks to a partnership between the listing portal and homebuilder marketing company Builders Digital Experience (BDX).

BDX is feeding 80,000 new-construction listings to Homes.com under an agreement announced today. The partnership provides additional exposure for builders who list homes on BDX, and offers consumers “more quality listings, direct access to local builders and a more comprehensive picture of the local housing market and inventory,” said Dave Mele, president of Homes.com, in a statement.

The deal expands the reach of BDX’s listing syndication network, which already feeds listings to a range of property search platforms.

BDX powers the “New Homes & Communities” section of realtor.com, operates new-home listing sites NewHomeSource.com and NewHomes.Move.com, and supplies listings to a number of multiple listing services (MLSs).

BDX was formerly a joint venture between realtor.com operator Move Inc. and homebuilder consortium Builder Homesite Inc. Move operates Homes.com rival realtor.com.

The venture — and therefore Move’s part-ownership of BDX — ended in December 2014 in accordance with the terms of the agreement between Move Inc. and BDX, the companies said. Builder Homesite Inc. is now the sole owner of BDX.

“Move and BDX continue their strategic content and business relationship, and BDX remains the exclusive provider of realtor.com advertising solutions to the new construction industry,” said Move spokeswoman Christie Farrell in an email.

News of the partnership comes shortly after Homes.com began offering “one of the largest banner ads in the industry.”
