We invited the Twittersphere to tweet questions to Ryan Serhant using #AskRyanSerhant and this is what emerged — with Ryan’s advice added.
1. @MarcInSF415: Do you have advice for someone starting in a big city with little RE background but huge passion?
Anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Real estate is a relationship-based business. So start by calling and emailing everyone you know and ask them to call you for their real estate needs. Ask them to reach out to their networks to help you spread the word.
Network. Make it a goal to meet as many new people as possible everyday. Network all day, and all night, to grow your client base.

Don’t ever stop emailing, calling and meeting new people; this should be the story of your life until your time networking is replaced with business. When you reach that point, continue to fill your spare time with outreach so you can cultivate your next client.
2. @donnacartman: What’s your fave feature at a property?
My favorite feature in a property is the view. Whether it’s a stunning view of the city skyline, or a relaxing view of a perfectly manicured lawn, everyone should feel good about what they see outside of their window.
3. @Bass_Mode: What was your first big sale?
When you are first starting out, every sale is a big sale. The first sale I made was to a pregnant woman that I introduced myself to at Starbucks. She had another baby in a stroller.
I said, “I have a feeling you might be needing more space soon.” It turns out she did, and I snagged her as a client.
