Who are the real estate winners in the 2016 Webbys?

The Webby awards are coming up on May 17 — but don’t worry, we’ve combed through the 13,000 nominees and compiled a list of awards, honorable mentions and nominees that all pertain to real estate. Here goes:

Winners

Zillow

Perhaps no surprise — and I say that because Zillow has won 15 Webbys, in the past including the Webby and People’s Voice in the real estate website category five times.

Again this year, it took the real estate website award for both the Webby and People’s Voice. The other candidates were:

Zillow also took the Webby and People’s Voice awards for mobile sites and apps in real estate for StreetEasy and Zillow. The other nominees were:

Realtor.com

Realtor.com won three Webbys for the digital series that stars Elizabeth Banks and adds informative humor to the stressful process of purchasing a home. It won Webbys for Online Video and DIY Video, and it won a People’s Voice award in the how-to and DIY video category.

Again, it’s not super surprising that realtor.com won awards for this series as it has won 10 accolades including three Webby Awards, an OMMA award, two gold and two silver W3 awards, the AdWeek Watch Award for best female talent, a San Francisco BIG Star Award and a One Screen Award.

Docusign

Docusign will take home the Webby and People’s Voice in the mobile sites and apps professional services category.

Airbnb

Online Film & Video: Long Form went to Even/Odd for “Airbnb: Love is Welcome Here.”

House on Hallow Hill

Target Creative will take the Webby for Online Film & Video: VR: Gaming, Interactive, or Real-time (Branded).

According to the Target Creative website, “This Halloween, we wanted to engage, interact and connect with guests like never before. So, we created the ‘House on Hallow Hill’ — a first-of-its-kind series of 360-degree, fully interactive videos.

“A predominantly mobile experience, guests could experience the action, on their own terms, in any direction they pointed their phones. Plus, each room was staged with Target-only products that were easily shopable within the videos.”

(Imagine this type of tech applied to home showings, virtual staging or even house-hunting.)

Notable nominees

Standout official honorees

William Pitt and Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty has been recognized as an official honoree in the real estate website category. The company was honored for the cutting-edge new website it launched in 2015. The company spent 18 months completely redesigning its website and launched to immediate accolades.

Real Trends recognized williampitt.com as the No. 1 real estate site nationally in the category of best design, No. 3 in best mobile experience, No. 3 in best neighborhood pages and No. 5 in best overall real estate website.

In a vast sea of Webby competition and an even bigger ocean of real estate websites, it’s pretty remarkable that a brokerage’s website has been recognized by prestigious organizations.

“We are constantly impressed by the extent of creativity showcased by our Webby Honorees,” David-Michel Davies, executive director of The Webby Awards, expressed to William Pitt and Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty. “Your work continues to further the scope of innovation — setting the standard of excellence on the internet.”
