Washington D.C.’s average selling time saw a five-day drop year-over-year in Zillow’s June market report, hitting a median 68 days on the market in June. Adding to the problem, the nation’s capital posted an annual 12.1 percent drop in inventory.

In May 2016, Black Knight Financial Services showed the D.C. metro home price index value at $400,000, up 0.9 percent month-over-month and 2.4 percent year-over-year.
