Connect the Sessions: Get 2019 tips, trends and insights at Hacker Connect

Technology has become an increasingly critical part of business operations for individual real estate agents, teams and brokerages. The tools, software and innovations that comprise the real estate tech industry come with their own set of challenges and skill sets, and if you aren’t able to align what you can do as a programmer or product director at a real estate technology company with agent, brokerage and team needs, one thing is certain: You won’t last long.

Hacker Connect is the only event geared toward the people behind the tech in real estate. And it’s happening exclusively as part of Inman Connect New York, January 29 through February 1 at the Marriott Marquis Times Square.

What can you expect at Hacker Connect? Here’s a sampling of the programming and content you’ll find at this year’s event.

Hacker Connect will kick off with a discussion of the tech trends that will take over 2019, so you can make sure you’re keeping up with the initiatives and progress that the rest of the industry is making. You’ll hear about solving the privacy dilemma in tech so you can stay compliant while still offering the very best in tech, and how to take vision to reality in terms of user experience and building products for different demographics — whether that’s a real estate agent or a buyer or seller.

What do you need to consider when you’re building an API from scratch? Another session will cover tips for process and strategy depending on your long-term goals, and whether buying or open-sourcing your tech is the best approach. Data initiatives that are changing the real estate landscape will take center stage, in addition to discussions about existing data standards that you might not know about (yet), and what you need to know when it comes to accessing data in a world that hasn’t yet embraced open data as a philosophy. The newest augmented reality products will be put on display for your perusal; you’ll hear about integrating mortgage, title and lending to create an interoperable landscape; the future of voice user interfaces and how they’re changing the game, cloud computing strategies and the innovations in image tagging that are changing the way consumers search will also be hot topics on the agenda.

In addition to networking roundtable discussions and an exclusive post-event happy hour, you’ll hear from the Director of Product at Keller Williams, Daniel Morris, about what it takes to successfully build and ship a new product through the lens of Kelle, Keller Williams’ award-winning responsive voice assistant. “It starts with the ideation lab, where ideas coming directly from our agents are validated and iterated on to identify products and services that we should build for them,” Morris noted.

And Scott Lockhart will be explaining General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and how it could affect your business. “Some of the fines for abusing or breaking the law are really stiff; they’re $24 million Euro or 4 percent of your global revenue,” Lockhart said. So as you can see, it’s worth spending some time considering in terms of your own policies.

Get an edge on the competition by staying at the cutting edge of real estate technology and everything you need to know, whether you’re building it yourself or buying it from a vendor. Buy your tickets to Hacker Connect today.
