The chief technology officer at credit reporting agency Equifax is stepping into a new role on the board of directors for real estate holdings giant Realogy.

Bryson Koehler

Realogy announced Tuesday that it had appointed Bryson Koehler to its board, bringing the total number of board members to 10. Koehler has served as the CTO at Equifax since June 2018 and, according to Realogy, is “responsible for leading Equifax’s global information technology strategy and development.”

Michael Williams, chairman of Realogy’s board, praised Koehler in a statement Tuesday for his “experience in leveraging big data, cloud computing, and analytics to drive business performance.”

Ryan Schneider, Realogy’s president and CEO, said in a statement that Koehler’s addition to the board “deepens our breadth of knowledge in cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence and data analytics, and reinforces our commitment to innovation in all aspects of Realogy’s business.”

“I am incredibly excited to work with him,” Schneider added.

Koehler joins the Realogy board at a pivotal time for both the company and the industry.

Realogy — the largest real estate holding company in the U.S. and the operator of major brands such as Coldwell Banker, Century 21 and Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate — has been both expanding and diversifying of late.

In October, the company announced that it would franchise its Corcoran and Climb brokerages in 2019, for example, and in September it unveiled its entrance into the competitive world of iBuying.

Prior to joining Equifax, Koehler served as the CTO for the IBM Watson and Cloud Platform, as the CTO of the Weather Channel Companies, and as a senior vice president at the Intercontinental Hotels Group.
