Real estate brokerage and franchise giant Realogy Holdings Corp. is now accepting applications for a startup competition that helped some companies that participated in last year’s inaugural event win business from Realogy.
Fifteen contestants will be selected to compete in the 2014 Realogy FWD Innovation Summit, which will award $25,000 to the contestant that presents the “most innovative technology product or service designed for the real estate industry.” The event will take place Tuesday, June 17, at Realogy’s headquarters in Madison, N.J.
At last year’s summit, a panel of judges awarded first prize to 3-D interactive model provider Floored.
HomeZada, a company whose software helps homeowners organize and manage their home, and Buyer MLS, a buyer marketplace for agents, took second- and third-place honors, respectively.
In addition to offering a cash prize and bragging rights, the competition also has secured some startups business relationships with Realogy.
Alex Perriello, president and CEO of the Realogy Franchise Group, said in a statement that Realogy was “so impressed with the quality of companies” that participated in last year’s contest that the company “initiated a number of new business relationships” with participants.
Startups that want to participate in the contest must apply online at realogyfwd.com by April 17.
