Zillow may be looking to take advantages of “synergies” when it closes its acquisition of Trulia next year, but right now the portal says it’s looking to fill 250 job openings at its headquarters in Seattle and offices in New York, San Francisco, Irvine (California) and Lincoln, Nebraska.
Trulia’s currently looking to bring on 38 employees, and realtor.com operator Move Inc. has 54 openings.
Each company employs close to 1,000 workers, with Trulia leading the way.

Given the talk of synergy and cost savings among Zillow and Trulia execs around their pending merger, the unknown for how News Corp might reorganize and incorporate Move, and the big valuations for the firms, it’s tough to tell whether in a year from now there’ll be more or less than the combined total of roughly 3,000 people working to build the portals now.
One thing’s clear, Zillow has its foot on the hiring gas now.
