Onvedeo, maker of automated listing video tech for real estate brokers and agents, has signed an agreement with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate that gives luxury listings in the Realogy franchisor’s “Distinctive Collection” a video boost.

Onvedeo, which launched last year, has built a platform that creates listing videos automatically by mashing up a listing’s photos with live-action video snippets and mortgage info with a voice-over describing a home’s features. Onvedeo can also create videos in Chinese Mandarin, Spanish, French and Korean.

Listings in the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate “Distinctive Collection,” like this one in Rye, New York, now feature automatic videos powered by Onvedeo.

More than 8,900 agents in 270 offices across the U.S. are affiliated with the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate brand. The “Distinctive Collection” features standout homes with asking prices in the top 10 percent of those listed with the brand, said a spokeswoman for the franchisor, Jennifer Marchetti. She declined to say how many listings are in the collection.

In addition to signing an agreement to power videos for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate’s luxury listings, Onvedeo also has recently signed deals with three medium-sized brokerages: Avery Hess, Realtors (Dunn Loring, Virginia); Partners Trust (Beverly Hills, California); and Hegg, Realtors (Sioux Falls, South Dakota).

All of each firm’s listings will feature Onvedeo-powered videos, Onvedeo CEO Boubou Guiro said.

In September, Onvedeo announced a partnership with virtual tour marketing firm PlanOmatic, in which Onvedeo will power PlanOmatic’s video marketing product.

Automatic listing videos are on the rise and San Francisco-based Onvedeo is just one of the firms offering competing products.

Seattle-based brokerage Redfin began putting automatic listing videos on all its listings in 2013. The company behind that rollout, SundaySky, now partners with VScreen to provide its technology to the real estate industry at large.

Homes.com rolled out VScreen-powered automated listing videos in June for its agent subscribers, representing about 140,000 listings.

RealBiz Media Group Inc. is also a player in the space. It signed up ERA Real Estate to power “video microsites” for the Realogy franchisor’s listings last year.

Guiro says his firm stands out from competitors because it has developed an application programming interface (API) that allows firms to generate and edit listings on their own using the startup’s software.

Last September, Guiro won a startup pitch competition held by the Asian Real Estate Association of America for which Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate CEO Sherry Chris was a judge.
