Members of the Memphis Area Association of Realtors (MAAR) have a new public records provider giving them online access to a variety of property tax information.

After a two-year search for the right provider, the organization announced Thursday that it will work with Courthouse Retrieval System Inc., more commonly known as CRS Data, to customize a tax record system that incorporates local appraiser data.

CRS Data’s MLS Tax Suite integrates into a multiple listing service (MLS) and gives Realtors current tax data and detailed maps. A “refined values” feature enables members to create values for home renovations and remodel projects based on local renovation data, which helps create a more accurate comparable listing for properties.

The suite is optimized for mobile devices so agents can access property data on the go.

The suite is “an ideal platform, and their enthusiasm for customizing it to meet our members’ needs makes CRS Data a natural fit for MAAR,” said Nick Jones, the association’s MLS manager.

With about 3,200 members, MAAR is Tennessee’s largest local Realtor organization, encompassing Shelby, Fayette, Tipton, Hardin, Hardeman and McNairy counties. MAAR has operated an MLS for its members since 1954.

Headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, CRS Data currently provides access to comprehensive property data resources in more than 12 states and 500 counties. The company services bankers, MLSs, appraisers, investors and other specialty financial customers.

“This new partnership has helped us chart a new path for the public records system,” said Jack Jominy, sales executive for CRS Data. “By incorporating data from a range of sources, we can work together to elevate the reliability and value of our data, and ultimately create an unsurpassed customized system that delivers high-quality presentations.”
