The pitch

ClickDesk is a website chat messenging tool that can also support video and voice communication.

Platform: Web, browser-agnostic. Mobile for Android.
Ideal for: Larger agencies and teams deep into Web marketing; new agents; Web-savvy real estate companies.

Top selling points

  • ClickDesk allows for live monitoring of visitor activity.
  • Agents can be assigned a level of priority to questions posed by visitors; good for up-desk scenarios.
  • Video chats allow for high-touch level of interaction.

Things to consider

ClickDesk will provide the most value to companies who post and actively manage their own listing pages.

The close

Chat tools are becoming very common across multiple industries.

Technical support environments provide the ultimate case study for their effectiveness.

Further evidence for their value can be found by a brief glance around your office or while in line at the grocery store.

Everyone is looking for information now.

I challenge you to find a business that isn’t using some form of instant messaging mechanism to communicate throughout the day. Inman’s editorial team has a Slack meeting every day. It’s a highly active and valuable source of companywide communication. Much more efficient than email. And faster.

ClickDesk’s solution installs on any website in moments. All it takes is copying and pasting a paragraph of code.

It can be employed on specific pages or sitewide. It’s widely customizable and configurable, meaning you can engage triggers to time when it prompts a visitor for assistance.

The back end is uncluttered and intuitive; it would be hard for me to understand why a person would have trouble using it.

Admins or brokers can log in to monitor active chats, track historic agent chat activity and assign response priority to specific agents.

Files can be exchanged between agents and visitors, making it an ideal pathway to send agency agreements or personalized agent collateral after a prolonged discussion.

ClickDesk records the location, IP address and browser type used by the prospect. Over time, this data can contribute to the creation of customer profiles when coupled with a CRM or other relationship management solution.

There are number of advantages to capturing listing page visitor interest as soon as possible.

Agents who specialize in specific property types can be alerted to a browser on your agency’s condo page or luxury listing site.

Each chat prompt can be configured to include user specifics. For example, “Are you looking for a condo in Tahoe City?” or “I see you’re in Palo Alto, looking for something around $3,000,000?”

Overall, I don’t think you’ll find messaging software as easy to deploy as ClickDesk.

Everything can be managed in a few clicks, even integrations with a number of CRMs and website platforms, such as Tumblr, Wix, WordPress and Joomla.

There are number of advantages to capturing listing page visitor interest as soon as possible.

With listing data being disseminated across so many portals beyond an agent’s ability to reasonably control, there is tremendous value in being home when an important visitor comes knocking.

Don’t give them a reason to leave. At least not without talking with them first.

Is there value in chatting with website visitors? Are your customers skeptical of the potential robot on the other end? Do you use a Roomba?
