• When choosing continued education it completely depends on location. The classes offered in New York are not suitable for someone in Oklahoma.
  • I like Brian Buffini and Craig Proctor. You can take their training online or sign up for their classes when they're near your town.
  • My best marketing strategy is social media and e-blasts. Make sure all of your clients follow you on Instagram, and post photos of real estate constantly.

We invited the Twittersphere to tweet questions to Ryan Serhant using #AskRyanSerhant and this is what emerged — with Ryan’s advice added.

1. ‏@JamesDa1 asks: What continued education classes do you recommend for new real estate salespersons?

The answer completely depends on location. The classes offered in New York are not suitable for someone in Oklahoma. But I always tell agents they should continue to train and take classes.

Look at professional athletes — they train and practice far more than they play their game. I like Brian Buffini and Craig Proctor. You can take their training online or sign up for their classes when they’re near your town.

2. ‏@JBaronello asks: How effective do you find cold calling?

As effective as walking into a casino with your life savings and putting it all down on one bet.

3. @ElevateREAL asks: What has been your most successful marketing strategy for attracting new and old clients?

Social media and eblasts. Make sure all of your clients follow you on Instagram, and post photos of real estate constantly. As your clients are scrolling through photos of dogs and bikini models, they will keep passing your real estate posts.

Then, they can tag a friend on one of your posts, which takes far less time to make the referral than the standard phone call.
