• Use networking events to get business cards; then build lists and then work them.
  • Crystal knows exactly how your potential recruits communicate and where to find them online.
  • Slybroadcast makes leaving mass voicemails easier.

Always be recruiting — this is a clear mantra of the real estate industry (thanks “Glengarry Glen Ross“), but for brokers, it’s more like always be recruiting.

But there are so many ways to go about the arduous task. We have some helpful ideas from the pros after sitting in on the #ICNY panel What Technologies Can Help With Recruiting?

Jeff Lobb moderated, and the panel consisted of David Wiggs, ActiveRain, Linda Michelson, Realty Connection, and Rachana Mathew, Re/Max Integra.

Tech tools to recruit by

1. slybroadcast

Mathew recommended slybroadcast because it makes recruiting phone calls easy. You can deliver voice messages directly to the recipient’s voicemail without calling — because let’s face it, you’re likely going to get the voicemail anyway. You can also send a large volume of messages, get an informative report and record the audio files using your phone.

2. Crystal

Or as referred to on stage, “Crystal knows” because this Crystal apparently knows everything. As Mathew explained, you basically give the application an email address, and it scours the Internet and tells you where and how to communicate with the person you’ve searched. Words can’t even explain how in-depth this tool goes — check it out for yourself.

3. ZipRecruiter

Wiggs recommended using the of ZipRecruiter and its resume database to help you vet potential hires. He also spoke highly of using social media in the recruiting process because social gives you the ability to tap into folks in a way that the resume doesn’t.

As far as non-tech recruiting methods, Michelson recommends that anytime you are at a networking event or conference (ahem — #ICNY), create a list, and work it!
