A seven-story, full-service residential building is open for business between 11th to 12th Streets along Avenue A in the East Village, and it’s style is a little uncommon for the eclectic and artsy neighborhood.

Sales and marketing are underway on Steiner East Village — a condominium development with an indoor pool, 2,000 square foot fitness center, parking, bike storage, pet spa and children’s playroom. But the most attractive amenity might be the 4,000 square foot roofdeck with protected views of Manhattan.

Douglas C. Steiner, Chairman of Steiner NYC, said East Village was his company’s target neighborhood for its vibrant art, culture and nightlife.

“It took us seven years to find the right site in what is our favorite neighborhood in Manhattan,” he said. “The East Village is authentic, bohemian and diverse, with a rich history of groundbreaking art and music.”

The building was designed by S9 Architects; it will be sold and marketed with the help of Douglas Elliman’s Frederik Eklund and John Gomes of Eklund Gomes Team.

“I’ve been marketing and selling new developments downtown for many years and have never seen a project that will be as transformative as this one,” Eklund said. “It’s truly a game-changer for the neighborhood in terms of design, beautiful living spaces and [having] an incredible breadth of amenities.”

Attention to detail took a new meaning in Steiner East Village: The lobby floor is made of concrete mixed with brass inlays — which are also seen woven in the carpet of the residential hallways.

Inside apartments, buyers can find loft-style interiors with 10-foot ceilings and oversized, bronze-framed windows that fill the room with natural light, further representing Steiner’s quest to integrate organic elements into his project.

In addition to open-air and sun-filled spaces, condos come equipped with marble finishes, white oak flooring and high-end appliances. Kitchens and baths are complete with custom Italian cabinetry and limestone/marble countertops with complementary backsplashes. Even the doors are stately inside Steiner’s apartments, standing eight-feet high and fixed with brass hardware finishes for an extra splash of chic.

Apartments range from one to four bedrooms, with the least expensive unit starting at $1.1 million. Currently, there are eight units listed for sale, ranging from $1,349,000 to $3,275,000 and 661 square feet to 1,635 square feet. The units publicly listed for sale range from one to three bedrooms.

Penthouses, which are not yet catalogued on Steiner’s website, are confirmed to be the only four-bedroom units in the building.
