SAN FRANCISCO — In perhaps one of the most lively presentations at ICSF — “10 technology tips that will change your business” — Kristi Kennelly (a former Broadway actress!) of realtor.com shared seven (that’s right, you have to go visit her to get the final three tips) real estate agent tech hacks that you will likely want to implement immediately — even if you aren’t an agent. Here they are:

1. LinkedIn

Did you know that you can export your LinkedIn connections into a database file format? It’s true. Kennelly suggests that you export your contacts and send them to a landing page where you offer value to potential clients such as a home valuation.

2. Google Alerts

Basically, use them! You can use Google Alerts to find out what’s in the news about any topic. Think about it: you can find out what’s being said about you, your company or your listings online not to mention be alerted if someone puts your listing on Craigslist or elsewhere. Kennelly suggests creating a Google Alert for each and every one of your listings.

3. Gboard

Check out this video. It explains the awesomeness of Gboard.

Unfortunately, this app is only available on iPhone. However, Kennelly did recommend Slash for Androids.

4. Pipl.com

Use Pipl to do a quick comprehensive people search on the web. You can investigate (stalk) your potential clients or other people that you are about to meet to find commonalities.

“Use these tools to prioritize your leads,” Kennelly said.

5. Realtor.com/giveliz

The inventive and comical Webby-award winning folks at realtor.com created educational videos to teach consumers about the homebuying process. These webisodes are free for agents to post to their websites.

6. Your contact record

This is key: Add the words “real estate agent,” “Realtor” or “my real estate agent” before your name on your contacts in your phone. It makes it easier for your contacts to find and remember you as a real estate agent and see you labeled as such when they flip through their contacts.

7. Namerick

This app helps those of us who are are bad at remembering names — remember the people we meet. You enter someone’s name and add details from your conversation. Namerick reminds you via text message of the person you met using techniques that memory experts use. Check out the video below.
