- Sellers can list their home for a small fee and buyers can search for their dream home.
Mid-century modern beauties, Victorians houses built in 1900, fixer-uppers and restoration tips — that’s the lifeblood of the website and magazine Circa Old Houses, the “online historic house marketplace that showcases the most beautiful old homes for sale all across the country.”
Circa has amassed a devoted following since its start in 2013. The website has more than 1.5 million monthly pageviews, 50,000 followers on Facebook, more than 10,000 followers on Instagram and hundreds more on Twitter and Pinterest.

And it recently launched a smartphone app that will help those fans get their old-house fix while on the go.
The site showcases homes from all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Canada. Real estate professionals and homeowners can upload a home for sale for a $45 fee for a 90-day list.
Once they do, home shoppers specifically interested in historic homes can access those homes from their smartphones.
“We personally look over every listing that you submit, and work with you to make sure that no molding goes unnoticed, no chandelier goes unappreciated,” reads a pitch to homesellers on the Circa website. “To serve up the snazziest, jazziest listing you’ve ever created.”
According to Circa’s submission guidelines, the company “accepts sales listings for single and multi-family homes, commercial properties and apartments constructed before 1975 that retain a significant level of historic detail inside and out.” Listings must be accompanied by at least three and as many as 10 high-resolution (and, Circa suggests, high-quality) photos.
The app features a drop-down menu with beautiful photos of homes in their preferred location. Old-home enthusiasts will enjoy the additional antique lifestyle coverage and ability to save “favorites.”
