A long-tenured Realogy executive is stepping into a new role. Coldwell Banker Real Estate announced today that Liz Gehringer, a member of Realogy’s leadership team since 2006, was named today as its new chief operating officer.
Gehringer told Inman her focus will be shaped by what she hears from people in the offices, using Coldwell Banker’s offerings every day to grow their businesses.
“I’m very excited to start meeting with them to understand how we can support them best,” said Gehringer. “I’m impressed by what I’ve seen already in terms of data-intelligent technology products and compelling educational resources.”
Gehringer previously served as general counsel for the Realogy Franchise Group – the parent company of Coldwell Banker – from 2007-2012. Most recently, she served as senior vice president, chief ethics and compliance officer at Realogy Holdings Corp.
“In her role at Realogy, [Gehringer] has proven to be a first-class executor of programs that move the needle,” said Charlie Young, president and CEO of Coldwell Banker. “We are immensely excited to bring her talents, perspective and results-driven mindset to our leadership team at Coldwell Banker Real Estate. With [Gehringer] at the helm of operations, Coldwell Banker Real Estate is poised for tremendous growth, innovation and success.”
Throughout her tenure with the company, Gehringer is cited with building an ethics and compliance program which drew the attention of Ethisphere Institute, an organization that measures corporate ethics. Ethisphere Institute recognized Realogy as one of the world’s most ethical companies for seven consecutive years.
“This is an award that reflects the principles of Realogy, mirrors the values on which the Coldwell Banker brand was built, and represents a tradition of operating ethically that will continue,” said a press release announcing the hire. “Gehringer’s combination of operational, franchise and legal experience, as well as her proven ability to build a world-class program from the ground-up, uniquely position her to drive strategic growth in her new role.”
Michael Fischer, the current COO of Coldwell Banker, will move on to the role of senior vice president of marketing for Coldwell Banker operations under NRT. The shuffling of roles will take place sometime this month.
“Michael Fischer will take on expanded responsibilities as the senior vice president, marketing, for the company-owned Coldwell Banker operations under NRT, the largest real estate brokerage in the U.S.,” said Young.
“Michael has a strong background in both marketing and operations, which will help drive Coldwell Banker NRT growth.”
