Software company Contactually, creator of a popular customer relationship management (CRM) program of the same name, has announced the launch of an updated Chrome browser extension for its signature program.

The extension allows Contactually’s CRM to function within Gmail. The new version will give users a deeper look into their Contactually database, while providing new functionality within the popular email client.

Once installed, agents can see and edit contact relationship details, recent communications, add tags, and receive automated outreach suggestions, such as when its best to send an email to a specific contact.

In a press release on the software update, Contactually CEO Zvi Band noted Gmail’s popularity within his customer base.

“More than 70 percent of Contactually users are on Gmail,” he said.

Contactually expects the Gmail connectivity to further streamline how its customers use their product, the ultimate goal of every software product, and especially of customer relationship management platforms.

“We wanted to provide the best aspects of Contactually’s contact management in the environment where agents spend the most time thinking about and communicating with their network,” said Band.

The new extension gives agents the ability to use Contactually’s powerful “Buckets” feature, a tool that triggers automated communications with clients and leads.

Browser extensions and app integration help strengthen relationships between software companies and their customers by increasing the product’s presence throughout daily workflows, and by becoming more entrenched with other facets of business. This tactic is especially important in real estate CRMs because agents are often hunting for new technology partners.

Washington, D.C.-based Contactually reports that more than 2,000 users have installed its Chrome extension since initial launch, and thus average two times the number of work sessions. The company also shared that users of the extension:

  • created 74% more contacts
  • organized 44% more contacts into Buckets
  • updated 195% more contacts
  • have completed 37% more tasks

More updates are in the works for Q4, according to the press release. Contactually customers interested in the extension for the Chrome browser can find more information in the Chrome web store.
