Kleard, a showing management and identity verification app has announced that it will now be offering a version of its product for free.
The company announced this week that Kleard Lite will be free for agents to use.
The “lite” means that the freemium model is without some of the app’s more advanced functionality, allowing agents to use its open house functionality only three times for free.
Kleard Lite does include unlimited showings, which, like the open house sign-in, employs double authentication for additional confidence that the buyer/prospect is who they say they are.
The software registers the person with the app and sends a verification code that, once entered, links them to their phone number and the specific property being shown.
Founder Jonathan Martis said the new free version was to help break down barriers between budgets and agents who want some additional security.
“We listened to the industry,” he told Inman in a phone call. “At Inman Connect, we were approached by MLSs and associations about it being a member benefit, so we decided to go in that direction with the paid model.”
Kleard Lite also gives agents all of its safety features. Agents can set and send alerts, add details about the buyer and confirm the safe end to a showing.
The CRM and follow-up tools are not available on Lite.
In an August review, the app was deemed, “polished, more mature than was expected given its development timeline.”
With a few more months of feedback under its code, agents can expect Kleard to be more stable and for support issues to be largely ironed out.
Most importantly, remember that no security or identity verification app makes an agent 100 percent safe when showing homes.
As of this writing, Apple has not approved the new version of the app, but it’s expected to be available by publishing. It is available for Android users.
