The Inman community is made up of the best and brightest in real estate. And connecting this diverse, enthusiastic group of real estate professionals is an important part of our mission.

Inman Ambassadors are members of the Inman community who volunteer at each event to make introductions, help new attendees find their way and bring the spirit of connection alive. They connect the dots between the online and the offline, facilitate learning, and are a key part of making all the networking opportunities so successful.

We’re profiling each of the Inman Ambassadors so you can get to know them before the event.

Tara Christianson is the Technology & Training Director, Century 21 Redwood Realty and Editor, Happy Grasshopper. She’s also a classical pianist who took lessons through college.

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you first started the business?

Everything. Especially, though, I see so much more clearly now how having the right systems and processes in place from the start will improve your quality of life (both in work and personally) 110 percent.

How has Inman Connect impacted your business?

It’s broadened how I think about real estate and about technology’s role in it; it’s introduced me to many of the top minds in the industry which has led to many doors opened and opportunities given I know I wouldn’t have had otherwise; and it’s kept the fires stoked for my passion for both real estate and the digital world.

Who has been the most memorable/impactful speaker(s) you’ve seen at Connect and why?

Shabnam Morgharabi (brought much-needed perspective); Platon (enjoyed his views on the different kinds of power in the world); Billy Ekofo sharing his story — his Moyo message — with everyone was so powerful; I love hearing Joseph Rand and Jed Carlson’s views on the world; seriously, the list goes on and on…

What is your best Connect productivity hack/tip?

Research and plan, plan, plan beforehand. Knowing where you want to be, who you want to meet, anything outside the conference you want to go to or take advantage of before you get there will serve you well, and will also help you identify what time you have for meeting new people (and for catching your breath!).
