In 2010, Stephanie Lanier’s world fell apart: One morning she couldn’t wake up her nearly 2-year-old son Oliver; she then raced him to the hospital where doctors believed his brain was bleeding. Later, Oliver was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called tuberous sclerosis complex.
The medical bills associated with Oliver’s care were the impetus for social-worker-turned-stay-at-home-mom Lanier to get into real estate. Happier and healthier today, he has 60 hours a week of care in the Laniers’ home, which Lanier manages on top of her business and personal life.
