Stellar MLS, a multiple listing service that serves more than 58,000 agents and brokers in Florida, is the latest addition to the MLS Roundtable, a think tank focused on advancing the business of brokers and how MLSs can help that mission.
Merri Jo Cowen, CEO of Stellar MLS, will represent the organization.
“During these complex times, finding ways to better serving the needs of our real estate brokers is now more important than ever,” Cowen said in a statement. “We welcome the opportunity to brainstorm with other large and well-managed MLS organizations as we all explore options best suited for our brokers and agents.”
Together, the members of the MLS Roundtable serve more than 400,000 real estate brokers and agents. As an organization, the members have advocated for accelerated adoption of standards set forth by Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO).
Some members have worked towards expanded data-share agreements and others have restructured their own organizations to reflect more neutral branding than their previous identities, which were heavily location-centered, according to MLS Roundtable.
The MLS Roundtable published the MLS 2020 Agenda in 2017, a forward-looking document produced with T3 Sixty that outlined the state of the MLS. A new study created in collaboration between the two is set to be released in early October and will detail specific guidelines for MLS organizations in the coming years.
“Fueled by billions of outside investment dollars, technology innovations and new real estate business models, MLS organizations find themselves within an industry in dramatic shift and changing value propositions.” said Stefan Swanepoel, chairman and CEO of T3 Sixty, in a statement.
