EXp Realty has a new leader at the helm. Jason Gesing, who’s been with the company for nearly a decade was named CEO, Thursday, while founder and former CEO Glenn Sanford will shift his focus to running eXp Realty’s parent company, eXp World Holdings.
“Gesing has been an invaluable part of eXp since almost the beginning 10 years ago and helped us get to where we are today — from fewer than 25 agents in four U.S. states to more than 24,000 agents across North America and soon in the United Kingdom and Australia,” Sanford said in a statement.
EXp World Holdings has bloomed into more than a real estate holding company in the past year, with the acquisition of VirBELA, the virtual world technology vendor, which services clients outside of eXp Realty, as well as eXp Realty’s virtual cloud brokerage platform.
“As I step up to work on the long-term sustainability of the overall parent company, I couldn’t be more excited and pleased to entrust our amazing agents and staff to Gesing and the eXp Realty leadership team,” Sanford said. “We now have the right team in place to steward and grow the company in the right direction.”
EXp Realty and its parent company eXp World Holdings have seen some turnover at the top in the past year: Scott Petronis, the former chief technology officer, Mary Frances Coleman, former chief operating officer and Vikki Bartholomae, the company’s former president all departed in the past 12 months. In June, Mitch Robinson was named eXp World Holdings’ first chief marketing officer, and earlier this month, Raymond “RJ” Jones joined the company from Zillow Group as the executive vice president of finance and growth.
Gesing joined eXp Realty in March 2010 and most recently served as the executive vice president of business development for eXp World Holdings.
