This week, we’re asking you: How did your leaders provide comfort, direction, support and even inspiration during this time of uncertainty and hardship?

Virtual open houses, digital closings, conversations from behind face masks — what productivity looks like for real estate agents this summer covers new terrain for all of us. All June, Inman surveys the New Productivity: the tools, skills and insights needed to make it work now.

Pulse is a recurring column where we ask for readers’ takes on varying topics in a weekly survey and report back with our findings.

It’s safe to say that 2020 is a year marked by so many challenges and so much change. Even as the country readies itself to reopen, people are still trying to come to grips with living and working in the shadow of COVID-19.

And as the summer began, protests against racism and police brutality broke out across the country in at least 100 cities in the wake of several deaths, after long-festering issues of racial inequality.

It’s in times like this that we start to realize and feel, with a palpable urgency, just how important leadership is. Good leaders step in and help their people — employees, coworkers, friends and the community — navigate uncertainty.

So, this week, we’re asking you: Have your leaders stepped up this year? If so, how? How did your leaders provide comfort, direction, support and even inspiration during this time of uncertainty and hardship? How are they handling the effects of this global health crisis? What steps did they take, or are they planning to take, in response to issues of longstanding racial injustice that are now spurring worldwide protests?

We’ll compile a list of the top responses and post them on Inman next Tuesday.
