We talk a lot about curating good content when it comes to your social media channels. Katie’s got an awesome webinar that touches on this point and I’ve been a long time fan of Pinterest and Flipboard but recently, I find myself checking out Google Currents more than anything else.
Currents came out back in June and is available for both iPhone and Android devices and while it is similar to Flipboard, I really love the user interface on this Google product. If you do a search for ‘real estate’ there’s a lot of good content that comes up like Curbed and Tech Savvy Agent, for example. You’re also able to grab RSS feeds from the search term and add those to your stream of favorite content.
The menu bar at the bottom allows for you to quickly open and view the table of contents for each channel and you’re also able to connect all of your social media accounts like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and your email account for easy sharing. Trending stories are also personalized and pull the articles, photos and videos as they unfold.
I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge fan of throwing all of my eggs into Google’s basket, but this app has made finding, reading and sharing the latest news just a bit easier. See their current publications here and check out their promo video below.
