Real estate tech tip No. 3: Refresh

So, what makes the iPhone and Google Glass app Refresh so interesting? Refresh creates an instant dossier on the people you know and the people you want to meet. It helps turn you into a great conversationalist by giving you something to talk about with the people you meet. Don’t worry, Android friends — that version is being worked on as we speak.

The first question many of you might be asking is “What the hell is a dossier?” OK, for the uninitiated, it is a collection of background documents on a person.

Refresh for the iPhone and Google Glass

When Refresh sees a meeting in your calendar, it immediately begins work on a background and “talking points” for the person you are meeting. Obviously, the more connected that person is with social networks, the better the information.

I have been using the app for about two months in Las Vegas and have found it to be very helpful. It is especially useful when I am meeting new agents or clients, as it helps give me information on what they are really like and what their interests are. If you can get past the “creepy” factor that we share so much information about ourselves online — and it is essentially out there for all to see — then I think you will love this app.

There is also a Google Glass version that is even more sophisticated. That version takes it one step further and allows you to view the information as “tiles” on your glasses while you are talking to them.

I believe Refresh is just a little glimpse into the future. Check it out and let me know what you think.
