Real estate data aggregator CoreLogic has agreed to a settlement order from the Federal Trade Commission in order to complete a $661 million acquisition of competitor DataQuick Information Systems Inc. — a deal the FTC said would likely reduce competition in the market for certain real estate-related data, wrote the Wall Street Journal’s Anna Prior.
The order requires CoreLogic to license national assessor and recorder bulk data, as well as other DataQuick data, to another rival, Renwood RealtyTrac LLC, in order to “allow the latter to become an effective competitor in the market,” Prior wrote.
