A cold front that has caused temperatures across the nation to drop precipitously may be chipping away at home sales, real estate broker Dolly Lenz told CNBC.
For example, she said, she was supposed to meet a client in Miami, Fla., to show properties, but because of freezing weather, the client wasn’t able to make it.
“I bet the same is true in a lot of other areas,” she said. “So it’s taking up all of our time and all of our eyeballs, and I think that keeps us away from doing other things we may have otherwise done.”
Other commentators noted that while cold temperatures may stymie home sales, they may also boost online shopping, as well as offline shopping for products and goods that help people more comfortably cope with severe weather.
