Just because MSNBC host Donny Deutsch already knew the buyer a real estate broker brought to the sale of his $30 million Hamptons home doesn’t mean he can skip out on the $1.2 million commission the broker claims he’s owed, a Manhattan judge has ruled.
Deutsch’s alleged private brokering of the sale and his “refusal to acknowledge” Sotheby’s International Realty broker Edward Petrie’s role in the deal are “marks of dishonesty and greed,” the judge said in an Oct. 23 decision, the New York Post reports.
Attorneys for Deutsch say he never agreed to pay the 4 percent commission claimed by Petrie, and that he will appeal the decision. Source: pagesix.com.
