“Jobs for New York” — a political action committee that reportedly plans to make $10 million in independent expenditures in New York City races this fall — is “a front for the Real Estate Board of New York,” claims a tenants rights group that operates its own PAC, Tenants PAC. Jobs for New York, which is also funded by private sector union groups representing masons, carpenters and food workers, is out to “eliminate tenant rights,” a Tenants PAC spokesman tells The Commercial Observer.

REBNY referred The Commercial Observer’s request for comment to Jobs for New York, which said it’s been transparent and complied with state laws in its backing of Council Member Inez Dickens of Manhattan, Andrew Cohen of the Bronx, Assemblyman Rafael Espinal of Brooklyn, district leader Costa Constantinides of Queens, and Steven Matteo.
