Some institutional investors that are renting out thousands of homes that they’ve snapped up are reportedly making abysmal landlords, according to The Huffington Post.
Many renters of these homes struggle to make contact with property managers or the institutions that own their homes, let alone persuade them to fix problems like broken water heaters, toilets and vermin infestations.
“It’s just a slumlord,” one tenant said of single-family home investor Colony American. “A huge, billion-dollar slumlord.”
