HomeViu’s interface takes you through the process, allowing you to stop recording in one room, walk to another and start recording again. The end result is a smooth video file that looks deliberately edited.

HomeViu is an app that helps agents create and share property video with other agents and customers.

Platform(s): iOS for iPhone
Ideal for: Agents looking to diversify their marketing outreach and offer clients video content

Top selling points

  • Native messenger for sending, discussing video content
  • Easy room-by-room video stitching
  • Geolocation lets users search nearby HomeViu videos

Things to consider

This isn’t a video creation tool designed for general publishing, like Busivid or Animoto. Rather, content is intended for digestion by the HomeViu user network. Buyers need to download the app as they would a property search portal.

Full review

HomeViu makes property video creation quite easy.

Granted, anyone can walk into a listing, record something and send it to a buyer.

What’s unique about HomeViu is that it seamlessly stitches together multiple takes without any need for an editing tool.

The app’s interface takes you through the process, allowing you to stop recording in one room, walk to another and start recording again.

The end result is a smooth video file that looks deliberately edited.

People in your contact list who also use the app can receive video listing files that also contain basic details on the property, like location, price, size and so forth.

What’s unique about HomeViu is that it seamlessly stitches together multiple takes without any need for an editing tool.

The in-app messenger serves as an ongoing discussion panel about the property. It also does a good job of containing the conversation in the silo of that listing.

HomeViu is available for anyone to download, so agents interested in the app would of course want to strongly encourage its adoption in their market.

Users can create buyer profiles to be alerted to video listings that match and when a video is created for a nearby property.

Buyer agents can tour properties for clients and send them video for further consideration. Listing agents can make good video fast and push it out to the HomeViu network as another form of compelling — and free — exposure.

The app UI is pretty sweet.

Listing agents can use the app to create open house promotions with the included promotional feature, which broadcasts the dates to those browsing HomeViu for listings.

The listing content can also be shared on Facebook and via email.

I like that data-heavy video listings won’t live on your phone to devour your storage. Homeviu is happy to host them for you.

The app UI is pretty sweet. Searches can be done within a mileage radius, and clear icons help users tap through desired property parameters.

The app has some compelling reasons for use but it is in the early going, especially if the goal is to build a video-driven property search platform.

HomeViu_Discover

There are a little more than 300 video posts currently and almost 4,700 viewings.

That said, the app is free for all features and will remain so for the foreseeable future. I think it’s worth the download.
