Takeaways:

  • Agents who effectively leverage video will win more business.
  • Video can be used to market listings, yourself and your market.
  • Good video doesn’t not have to be expensive or overly produced.

The pitch

Busivid is video content creation software. It has two apps, Create and Direct; the latter offers metrics and enhanced content management for what the former produces.

Type of software: Marketing.
Platform: iOS for iPhone, iPad.
Ideal for: Any agent, team or brokerage wanting to embrace video for listings or company branding.

Top selling points

Easy does it: Busivid Create is very simple. After setup, pro-level videos can be published in a few taps.
Stars can shine: Individual agents can quickly build YouTube or Vimeo content channels.
Feature rich: Store videos on the Web, upgrade for better metrics and embed music.

Things to consider:

Don’t overdo it. Seriously. Busivid’s ease of use could encourage users to broadcast everything and dilute your content. Don’t be ESPN. Video has many uses, but be consistent and authentic.

The close

I was stalking Startup Alley at Connect, guerrilla-style, ambushing participants with nothing more than my iPhone 5s and the hope someone was around to serve as camera operator.

I noticed Busivid’s display of mobile device video equipment and immediately understood how community television executives feel when they attend their marquee industry conference.

On top of its two apps, Busivid resells equipment tailored to the mobile video marketer. You can carry a studio in your messenger bag.

Busivid Create builds your videos, while Busivid Direct lets you measure video traffic and react to opens and shares. You don’t have to buy Direct, but it will allow for a more comprehensive marketing strategy.

A single user can manage multiple brands with a Busivid Create account.

This is ideal for an agency marketing director who helps produce content for multiple office teams. It also allows you to build a brand around a specific property.

Setup involves you uploading logos and creating your branding parameters, like background colors and phone numbers. This is where you’ll add specific websites, phone numbers or your picture.

Busivid then processes that information into an animated opening sequence, in-video watermark and a closing card with a call to action.

After recoding a video with a device’s native camera, users simply choose which brand they want to bracket the content, select a music choice and allow Busivid to process it.

You can choose a cold open with no intro or decide against the in-video watermark. Up to you.

Busivid Create also comes with a few stock music choices or you can upload your own.

Completed videos are stored on your Busivid account for management and future editing.

Publishing is made as easy as production, with options to connect common social media platforms, as well as YouTube and Vimeo. You can even text a video through Busivid.

The ability to publish should be a critical factor in considering video software and equipment.

You need to know how you’ll get the content to your audience before you dive into the hard costs.

This is why more stand-alone cameras are coming with Wi-Fi connections and also why GoPro’s stock has been suffering. There’s too much content left unpublished on users’ cameras. (I own shares of GoPro.)

Busivid_Options

Real estate is built for video. While I’ll always be a fan of investing in high-end still photography, the Internet’s “content-now” requirement is mandating brands in all industries turn to video messaging.

Busivid is a great way to augment your real estate marketing efforts.
