  • The last thing people want to worry about when moving is what to make for dinner.
  • A personalized doormat is a creative way to help your new homeowners spruce up their entryway.

Purchasing a home can be overwhelming and exciting for a new buyer. As freshly minted homeowners, buyers are often wrapped up in all the pleasantries that homeownership affords. Finding the perfect housewarming gift can be a fun task for an agent — now that the hard part is over.

Looking for a unique present for your clients? Here are 10 ideas to get you started.

1. Document the happy occasion with a professionally framed photo of the new home

Are your clients newlyweds or a family that has recently expanded? Did you work with a client who’s home purchase had sentimental meaning? A framed professional photo of the new home can be an artistic and creative way to document the happy moment in your buyers’ life.

2. Plant a tree — for their tomorrow

A tree is a gift that keeps on giving year after year. Take it a step further by purchasing a tree that has a special meaning.

3. Tailor a toolbox for the novice buyer

When I bought my first home, I was a single female at the ripe age of 25. I was more concerned with the color of my walls than having necessities for my new house. It never crossed my mind to buy a screwdriver or hammer or that I would immediately need one for that matter.

4. Help them decorate with a stager or designer consultation

Most of us work with a stager to consult with our seller clients. Why not work with your stager or designer to provide a consultation with your buyers to help them shop for items or decorate their new home?

5. Supply your clients with a month of ready-to-go meals

The last thing that people want to worry about when they move into a new home is what to make for dinner. Services such as Blue Apron or Hello Fresh offer the ability to send portioned, healthy, ready-to-cook-and-serve meals right to your clients’ front door.

6. Make their home a little safer

Ring is a doorbell that can be installed and works with a home Wi-Fi connection that allows users to view and speak to visitors at their front door, even when they are not home.

7. Help your buyers put their kitchen to work

Do you have clients who love to cook? Stock their kitchen with some fun cooking supplies, and accompany it with a gift certificate to a local cooking class.

8. Give their entryway a personalized facelift

A personalized mat for the front door is a creative way to help your new homeowners spruce up their entryway. The options are endless, and many companies online allow you to order anything from a monogrammed doormat to a sport’s themed one.

9. Subscription to Amazon Prime

When moving, regardless of the situation, most of us always find that we either gave something away that we needed, or we don’t own something we need.

With a subscription to Amazon Prime, your clients can order what they need for their new home with endless free two-day shipping. They will also have the added benefit of Amazon TV shows, books and radio.

10. Don’t forget their furry friends

The way to to the hearts of many people is through their pet. Why not pamper your buyers’ pets during the move? Barkbox is a pet subscription services that will allow you to send semi-customized boxes of toys and treats direct to your clients’ front door.
