Zumper recently examined May’s median rent prices of one-bedroom homes in Chicago this summer. Here are its findings:
- Since May 2015, the price of one-bedroom units in Chicago decreased 4.4 percent, while two-bedroom units increased a slight 0.8 percent.
- Near North Side fetched a median price of $2,100 for one-bedroom units in May and was Chicago’s most expensive neighborhood to rent in. Close behind were the Loop, Near West Side and South Loop.
- Priced at $1,000 or below per month in May, more affordable units could be found in the southeast portion of Chicago like Humboldt Park, West Garfield Park and North Lawndale.
