Zillow is putting more pieces together as it moves closer toward letting consumers search for Canadian property listings on its namesake website: residential real estate franchisor EXIT Realty Corp. International is the latest company to commit to bringing Canadian homes for sale to Zillow.
Based out of Mississauga, Ontario, EXIT Realty Corp. International has over 3,600 franchises across North America, and already has an existing marketing agreement with Zillow to provide U.S. listings. The companies did not specify when EXIT’s Canadian for-sale listings will be available on Zillow.com, except to say they were coming “soon.”
According to Zillow, every EXIT Realty Corp. International Canadian property featured on Zillow will have the typical property description, photos, agent contact information and a link to the brokerage website. The price will be displayed in Canadian dollars as well.
EXIT Realty Corp. International joins Century 21 Canada and Right at Home Realty, the latter Canada’s largest independent brokerage, in providing Canadian listings to the U.S.-based home search portal. Zillow CEO Spencer Rascoff said in the company’s latest earnings call that it was also establishing partnerships with Canadian multiple listing services, and that the Canadian residential market was about 12 percent the size of the U.S., though the median home price is higher.
“Zillow has relationships with thousands of brokerages and real estate agents in the U.S. who have used Zillow to grow their business and connect with the millions of home buyers and sellers who use our sites every day,” Errol Samuelson, Zillow’s chief industry development officer, said in a statement. “It has always been our goal to be the best partner to the industry possible, and we’re thrilled that our current partners can now offer the benefits of Zillow to their Canadian franchises.”
“EXIT Realty has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Zillow in the U.S. and we are pleased to be among the first companies in Canada whose listings will appear on Zillow,” said Tami Bonnell, CEO of EXIT Realty Corp. International, in a statement.
