Under the leadership of Art Carter, California Regional Multiple Listing Service Inc. (CRMLS) has grown to more than 71,000 members, making it the largest multiple listing service in the U.S., a distinction it earned in August 2011 when CRMLS merged with Anaheim-based SoCalMLS. Carter has served as CEO since August 2005, during which time he’s been instrumental in a data-sharing revolution in Southern California. He served as chairman of the California Real Estate Technology Services (CARETS) Steering Committee from its inception in 2006 through its incorporation in February 2008. In 2013, CRMLS signed a multiyear deal to give its members access to international listings and to market its listings with global networking and property marketing network Proxio Inc. The MLS also made a deal to offer their members N-Play’s Facebook Internet Data Exchange (IDX) listings search application, was one of the first MLSs to integrate search-by-commute-time tool INRIX Drive Time, and signed an agreement with Move Inc. joint venture Builders Digital Experience Inc. (BDX).
