John Mosey has been president of NorthstarMLS since 2002, serving more than 13,500 members in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Previously, he had spent two years as president of real estate appointment scheduling firm Callnetics Corp. and 25 years at Moore Data Management Services, where he was vice president of sales and marketing. In 2013, Mosey became a founding board member of REDPLAN Inc., a new nonprofit organization created to protect the intellectual property rights of multiple listing services and brokerages. Mosey is no stranger to the issue: NorthstarMLS filed a copyright infringement suit against the owner and operator of agent ratings and referrals site NeighborCity.com in April 2012. NeighborCity countersued, claiming antitrust violations, and the two companies have been locked in a closely watched legal battle ever since.
