Irvine, Calif.-based Realty One Group, the fast-rising brokerage that’s also entered the franchising business, has signed up four new affiliates in California, bringing the total number of affiliated brokerages to 23.

The new franchisees include San Ramon-based BMC Associates, with 135 agents; Sullivan & Genie Inc. in Glendora with five agents (rebranding as Realty One Group Masters); and Kinder Real Estate in Oakland with one agent (rebranding as Realty One Group Allure). The fourth new affiliate, Realty One Group Champions in Riverside, is starting up from scratch.

“The additional horsepower my associates now have, as part of the Realty ONE Group family, is phenomenal,” said Navid Ali, the broker-owner of Realty One Group BMC Associates, in a statement. “High volume plus high-quality transactions creates both happy agents and happy clients.”

Realty One launched its franchise business in October, seven years after starting a brokerage that, according to Real Trends statistics, has grown to become the seventh largest in the U.S. by transaction sides. All told, Realty Once Group claims more than 40 offices and 4,500 associates operate under its brand.

Earlier this month, Realty One Group launched a franchise-focused website (ownaone.com) with an eye to expanding its franchise footprint nationwide. Currently, the bulk of its affiliates are located in California, Arizona and Nevada.

The firm says it is targeting its value toward agents to grow the franchise.

“Focus on the agents and all else will follow,” said Rick Hudson, Realty One Group’s head of franchise development, in a statement. “Everything we provide, from cutting-edge technology to a compensation model that allows agents to keep more of their hard-earned money, is designed to appeal to these top-performing professionals.”

Hudson, who served as senior director of franchise management at real estate giant Realogy from 2003 to 2008, joined Realty One Group last fall.
