Rentenna has rebranded as AddressReport and says its customized reports — which track characteristics of buildings and their surroundings down to details like elevator wait times and rat sightings — are now geared to buyers as well as renters.

The company is pitching AddressReport as a resource for brokers, who can generate reports for clients.

“Many of the users who ended up on our old site were looking up condominiums and co-ops and not just rentals,” the company said in announcing the rebranding today. “We shifted based on our users needs. It became very apparent that while there are hundreds of websites with listings, there is very little out there to give future homeowners and leasers the real nitty-gritty of what a building is like.”

The rebranding, which coincides with the site’s emergence from beta testing, adds construction history, sales history and information for dog owners to the mix of data furnished in the reports. Users must register to see some of the more useful information, such as sales or listing histories.

AddressReport says some of the most popular stats sought by site users include official complaints made with the New York City Housing Department, crime maps and breakdowns of types of crime, quality of life issues like street noise and rat sightings, and estimated elevator wait times.

In addition to Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx and Queens, the site covers nearly two dozen other U.S. markets, including Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, and Washington, D.C., although the number of buildings that reports are available for is sparse in some areas.
