The poll accompanied an Inman News story about the National Association of Realtors urging members to get tough in negotiations with real estate portals that they provide listings to, suggesting that Realtors demand that the identities of listing brokers and agents be prominently displayed, and not allow co-mingling of their listings with “FSBOs” (for-sale-by-owner properties), among other things.

Among the 844 readers who had responded to the poll as of Thursday, Aug. 5, 27 percent said they or their broker intended to seek more favorable terms from listing portals in exchange for providing listings. Another 5 percent said they don’t syndicate listings to third-party portals like Zillow and Trulia.

But nearly 60 percent said they were satisfied with their relationships with portals they provided listings to. Another 9 percent said they did not plan to seek more favorable terms because they lack the leverage to make demands on the portals.
