Takeaways:

  • Today’s guest is the son of Realtor Beverly Carter who was abducted and killed.
  • Our discussion today is about safety advocacy for real estate professionals.
  • Learn valuable tips and procedures to help stay safe on the job from Carl Carter Jr.

The tragic abduction and killing of Arkansas Realtor Beverly Carter was a wake-up call for real estate professionals nationwide. It shocked us out of complacency and reminded us that safety is a daily concern in our profession.

Violent crime is something that can happen to any agent — in any market area. We hope today’s show honors her memory as a reminder to all agents to take precautions and stay safe on the job.

Our very special guest on today’s show is Carl Carter Jr., the eldest son of Beverly Carter. Since his mother’s death, Carl has made it his mission to promote safety awareness for real estate professionals.

He joins us today to provide insights into what happened to Beverly Carter, how it has deeply affected their family, her colleagues and her local community. He’ll discuss the topic of Realtor safety and provide practical tips to help agents avoid potential danger.

Carl is a licensed life and health agent with Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, where he has worked for 17 years. As part of his advocacy efforts to support the safety of the Realtor community, he is working to obtain his real estate license as well.

Today he’ll share his mother’s story and help us all to better understand how we can stay safe in real estate. To visit the Beverly Carter memorial page discussed in today’s show, click here.
