  • Not all agents are emotionally prepared for coaching, but those who are should take advantage of it.
  • There are a few simple indicators that can identify if coaching will be a good fit for you.

Maybe you like buying leads, you hate accountability or you’ve already got a mentor in your office — or maybe you already know everything that coaching can teach you. These are some of the common reasons people provide that are indicators that they’re not ready for coaching.

Independent studies, as well as research by the major franchises, support the benefits that coaching provides to agents who use it — but there’s a caveat.

Coaching students typically make at least twice as much as those without, and sometimes having a coach can help agents make up to 10 times more than their self-taught counterparts, but it’s a process that works only if you’re actively engaged in it.

Agents who make excuses why they don’t need a coach obviously aren’t ready, and there are many other indicators for cases where coaching simply isn’t a good fit.
