• Don't think of sensitivity as a weakness. Albert Einstein; Martin Luther King, Jr.; Nicole Kidman; Steve Jobs; Mother Teresa and more great achievers all identified as having this characteristic. You're in good company.
  • Stop trying to be a person you're not -- you do not have a career; you have a life.
  • You have permission to sell real estate within the strengths of your own personality.

Ignore all the ultra-hype about DiSC profiles, Myers-Briggs and other personality tests. You were made for real estate, even if you tend to err on the emotional side.

Sensitivity itself is not a weakness. Being sensitive means you’re alive, present, authentic and intense. Use this to your advantage. Many famous actors, entrepreneurs, politicians and historical figures ran high with emotion. Stop trying to be someone you’re not and be the best person you can be.

Raising up your sensitivity shield begins the moment you wake up. Have daily rituals that protect who you are. Give yourself the gift of all that’s important to you so you’re filled up and ready to go.

[Tweet “Be yourself first. Be your best self who happens to sell real estate.”]

Embrace the saying “It’s too soon to tell.” This powerful mantra applies to virtually all situations and can keep emotions at bay when stress arises.

Finally, look outside of real estate for inspiration and guidance. Adopt the Seven Da Vincian Principles of curiosity, demonstration, sensation, smoke, art and science, the body and connection to raise your awareness, become a “systems thinker” and see the big picture.
