• Zillow released two new features for builders that allow them to better position and market new builds, and make smarter land acquisition decisions.

Lately, Zillow Group has been on a roll with updating and releasing new products for agents and brokers alike.

Now builders can get in on the fun with a new lot availability feature for the Promoted Communities program and access to a new tool called Builder Insights.

The lot availability feature allows consumers to see which lots are available in real-time, and provides the lot’s status — for example, “not yet built,” “under construction,” “move-in ready” and “sold.”

Furthermore, consumers will get community activity notifications that tell them how many lots are left.

The Builder Insights platform provides consumer behavior and local market conditions data. Builders will be able to view available inventory, consumer search data and housing economics that will assist them in product positioning, land acquisition and marketing.

“These new features are game-changing for builders who partner with us,” said Lucy Wohltman, Zillow Group vice president of new construction, in a press release.

“The introduction of lot availability improves not only the consumer search experience on Zillow, but allows builders to showcase their available inventory and significantly increase discoverability of their communities.

“Coupled with access to more data than ever before from the Builder Insights platform, builders have the tools to make more informed decisions about where and what to build that will be most desirable to home shoppers.”
